At Mill Valley Notary, we’re proud to offer flexible, professional notary services delivered right to your door. Whether you're signing legal documents, real estate forms, or estate planning paperwork, a little preparation can help make your mobile notary appointment fast, efficient, and stress-free.

Here are a few simple tips to help you get ready:

✅ Have Valid ID Ready

  • Bring a government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license, passport, or state ID).

  • Make sure your ID is current (not expired, not even by a day!) and that the name on your ID matches the name on the documents.

✅ Review Documents Beforehand

  • Look over your documents in advance to be sure you understand them.

  • Make sure all pages are present and filled out (except for signatures and dates).

  • Notaries do not provide legal advice, so ask your attorney or document preparer if you have any questions.

✅ Wait to Sign Until the Appointment

  • Do not sign the document ahead of time.

  • The notary must witness you signing the document in person to complete a valid notarization.

✅ Ensure All Signers and Witnesses Are Present

  • If more than one person needs to sign, make sure everyone is available at the scheduled time.

  • If your document requires a witness, please let us know in advance—Mill Valley Notary may be able to assist with providing one.

✅ Choose a Comfortable Signing Area

  • Pick a quiet, well-lit place like a kitchen table, office, or living room for the signing.

  • Clear a space for documents and IDs so the appointment goes smoothly.

✅ Confirm Payment Details

  • Be ready to provide payment at the time of the appointment.

  • Mill Valley Notary accepts several payment options, including cash, check, and Venmo, Paypal & Apple Pay (we do not accept Zelle at this time.)

  • We'll always provide a receipt upon request.

✅ Let Us Know About Any Special Needs

  • If the signer has limited mobility, is in a hospital or care facility, or has other accessibility needs, please tell us when scheduling.

  • We’re happy to make accommodations to ensure a smooth experience.

We’re Here to Help at Mill Valley Notary, we aim to make your notary experience easy, convenient, and professional—right when and where you need it. With a bit of preparation, you can help us help you even better.
